The Authentic Pilates Method™ was developed by Joseph H. Pilates (1883–1967). It was originally created to help rehabilitate injured soldiers in regaining their strength. Today, it’s used by many top athletes, dancers, and performers, and by anyone like yourself who is seeking a stronger, more balanced body by strengthening what Joseph Pilates deemed the
powerhouse, aka the core, a group of muscles working together as a whole: the abdomen, lower back, hips-buttocks, and thighs.
What makes Pilates and the Reformer effective is that they strengthen the body from the inside out. The Reformer uses spring-based resistance to support and challenge the body throughout each movement. You’ll learn to move with control, precision, and flow as you transition from one exercise to the next, adjusting spring tension as needed per exercise likea well-rehearsed performance in motion.
